Do you believe every Oregonian deserves a fair shot?
OCJ is proud to be part of Fair Shot for All, a coalition of Oregonians, community organizations, and labor unions who have spent a decade fighting for racial, gender, and economic justice in Oregon.
We’re excited to join our coalition partners in announcing the 2023 Fair Shot Agenda, a list of legislative priorities that centers the needs of those most impacted by historic and current inequities, especially those who identify as Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and/or people of color; immigrants, LGBTQ+; women; and/or working-class families.
Will you join us in fighting to pass the 2023 Fair Shot Agenda?
OCJ in the community
- Many members of OCJ’s team attended the Consumer Rights Litigation Conference in Seattle from November 10-13, hosted by the National Consumer Law Center (NCLC). OCJ was a member of the Host Committee and participated in a variety of sessions covering topics including medical debt, auto financing, crypto assets and cyber scams, criminal justice fines and fees, and equity theft.
OCJ also had the pleasure of hosting a dinner for more than 30
members of Oregon’s consumer law community. These dedicated advocates and attorneys are essential to helping people win justice through our courts. - Community Engagement Manager, Joséluis Jiménez Maldonado, attended the RaceForward Conference in-person in Phoenix, Arizona from November 17-19, with several other staff attending virtually. This conference creates a collaborative space for racial justice movement making, and is the largest multiracial, inter-generational gathering for organizers, educators, creatives, and other leaders.
