By staying responsive to these emerging concerns, OCJ is focused on making sure all Oregonians have access to the protections and support they need in a rapidly changing landscape.

In the past we have shown up for consumers on matters concerning public utilities, data privacy, housing and foreclosure, and on federal decisions with local impact.

Priority Issues
Public Utilities

OCJ played an important role in protecting consumer rights by successfully intervening in PacifiCorp's proposed tariff request to the Oregon Public Utility Commission (PUC). The PUC's decision to reject their request safeguards consumers' ability to seek full compensation for damages, ensures accountability, and maintains legal protections.

Data Privacy

OCJ is supporting the passage of SB 619, Oregon's Consumer Privacy Act, by convening a Data Privacy cohort that will develop consumer resources to share new rights under this law. This bill is linked to Oregon's data broker registry bill (HB 2052).
