An unfair trade practice refers to any business conduct that is deceptive, fraudulent, or unethical—giving one party an unfair advantage over others in the marketplace. Unfair trade practices can include false advertising, misleading product claims, deceptive pricing tactics, bait-and-switch schemes, or other predatory practices aimed at misleading consumers or unfairly manipulating competition.
