Marissa (she/her) is interested in consumer protection and education, the intersection of business and law, and expanding access to justice. Following the close of her OCJ internship in December, she plans to finish her JD and MBA at Willamette University and continue building skills that help her advocate for Oregon consumers.
Fun fact: Marissa was a cheer coach for six years.
Topher (he/him), a third-year student at the University of Oregon School of Law, is fascinated by technology, data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI law. After graduation, he will begin a career as an associate attorney in data privacy at a firm in Chicago. He hopes this internship, which wraps up in December, helps him hone his ability to effectively advocate for consumers in the privacy space.
Fun fact: As an undergraduate student, Topher competed in intercollegiate curling and traveled for tournaments.
Katie (she/her) is working toward her master's degree in social work at Portland State University. She is interested to learn more about advocacy work and how social workers play a role in policy change. Her goal is to promote social justice at a macro level, with a focus on social determinants of health, data privacy, and protecting consumers from unethical practices in the medical and financial sectors. Katie will be with OCJ the duration of her school year.
Fun fact: Katie received her bachelor of science in Mathematics from Oregon State University.
