OCJ files its first case!

The case, Wallace v Crainic Auto Group, Inc., involves an 81-year-old man, Wayne Wallace, who purchased a car he cannot afford at Gladstone Mitsubishi based on violations of the Unlawful Trade Practices Act and the dealership's misrepresentations. His nearly $800 monthly payment leaves him unable to afford his rent or other necessities.

OCJ’s legal team is working with consumer attorney Young Walgenkim to bring Mr. Wallace’s UTPA, Civil Abuse of Vulnerable Person, and Bond Liability claims. This case supports a priority population frequently targeted by predatory practices and aligns with our policy work to advance legislation to strengthen consumer rights in auto purchasing. We're proud to work on behalf of Mr. Wallace and looking forward to taking on legal work for more Oregon consumers later this year.
