You did everything right in purchasing your used car from a dealer. Despite this, before long, you start experiencing problems. First, it’s a check engine light, then next, it’s overheating, leaking fluids, or you hear a knocking noise from the engine. Your next steps at this point are critical if you want the dealer to make things right.

Last spring, OCJ set the stage to regularly seek the input of consumers through a representative statewide survey. In October 2023, we built on those results and asked new questions to understand how a variety of consumer issues are experienced throughout Oregon.

While still on track to begin broadly taking consumer clients later this year as announced last November, we are thrilled to share that just before the new year, OCJ filed our first consumer case!

In spring 2023, OCJ engaged with the Oregon Values and Beliefs Center to conduct a statewide consumer survey. The survey results are helping us to better understand consumer protection matters through the lens of a representative sample of Oregonians.
